As the TMMOB Chamber of Mining Engineers, we visited the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Ekrem İmamoğlu, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pelin Alpkökin, Deputy Secretary General of IBB.

Deputy Secretary General of IBB and UYAK2023 Symposium Co-Chair Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pelin Alpkökin, TMMOB Chamber of Mining Engineers Chairman Ayhan Yüksel, Istanbul Branch Chair Mesut Erkan, UYAK2023 Co-Chair Selçuk Şimşek and UYAK2023 Secretary General Mehmet Makar attended to the meeting.

In the meeting, detailed information was given about the works related to the 5th International Underground Excavations Symposium and Exhibition, which we will organize with the cooperation of the Chamber of Mining Engineers Istanbul Branch and the IBB Rail System Department on March 9-10-11, 2023. Dear Ekrem İmamoğlu was invited to the UYAK2023 Symposium.

Proceedings of the UYAK Symposiums, which started to be organized with the start of the Istanbul subway excavations and are an essential archive on Istanbul's subway tunnel projects, were presented as gifts to Ekrem İmamoğlu.

At the end of the meeting, Ekrem İmamoğlu was presented with a traditional miner's cane on behalf of the Chamber of Mining Engineers.
